When I was approached by the LDS missionaries, I felt the Holy Ghost confirm that meeting was important. The Holy Ghost later confirmed that my membership with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was good and true. At no time did I have any concern about any “alledged” immoral actions of other Mormons.  My attendance to this Church was led by the Spirit, not by personal judgements of other people.

I believe God knows and sees all, and he knows each person, in and out of the Church that has fallen to evil or fell to sin, but God knows such things are going to happen anyway irrespective of his doctrine because the scriptures of the Book of Mormon and Bible clearly prophesize that “many Saints will fall” in these latter days.

This Church is made up of many converts who were not born into the Church. These converts lived in the same world where the Anti-Mormons reside. Evil permeates everything that belongs to the world. All people are subject to evil influences and those that succumb will do wrong, evil or wicked things. The Anti-Mormon’s are certainly not immune to this, especially when their main means of worship is contention, to harass others about our religion, which is against the US constitution or Canadian Charter or Rights. What happens when a person makes contention against others a mainstay in his/her life? That becomes akin to a worship and all contention is of Satan.

Some may question as to how I can remain with a Church that harbours, condones, allows, covers up offenses? Well I have the answer to this.

First, it was the Holy Ghost that led me to this Church, even with all the claims against it. The Spirit of God confirmed this Church is his and that certainly holds more value than an accusing mortal.

Second, the Church is made up of human beings. Mortals who have weaknesses and shortcomings just like any other person in the world. With over 6 million in the membership, there are bound to be a few that will fall to evil or commit wrongs. For those that do, the Church deals with them. Yet, evil actions and wrong doings are prevalent in the world in all organizations and levels of government and does the world deal with those evils that they do themselves?

The hypocritical manner of the world is not acceptable to God. In God’s eyes, the world at large is wicked which is why he has always kept a unique group of followers in membership as his own against the wails of the world. In God’s way, standards and principles of righteousness are formost, where in the world it is nonexistant.

The detractors would best place their energy dealing with their own corruption and working out their own salvation through Jesus Christ than yelling and pandering over alledged wrongs of this Church and its leaders. The Lord promised to bring a clean sweep to this Church first before he sweeps the world, removing the wicked and ill in spirit.

Therefore, no evil person is immune or kept “safe” from God’s hand and when does God do this? In his own timing. Do not forget the many years, even generations that have passed before God brings to pass his promises.

With all the shortcomings we all have, God still led me to this, his Church. With this I see that so long as the head of the Church, the prophet and apostles, remain intact, clean and pure, this Church is then true. I remember what the scriptures told us of the early Christian Church. It too had members who were corrupt and done evil, committed crimes and attacked the Lord’s Church. The apostasy of the early Church occurred because God did not replace the apostles. When these apostles of old were gone, the apostates took control. They too were “anti’s” and did no work for the Lord, but only for themselves, their greed and selfishness. That pleased Satan.

Do you get the parallel here?

Guess who persecuted the early Christian Church? – A cult! (Click). The roman Empire and it’s religion is considered a cult. Now consider this. The “Trinity Doctrine” was not created or made by the Early Christian Church led by the Apostles chosen by Christ. That doctrine was made to satisfy the “Cult’ government of that time. Do you get this implication? Read history and find out.

Now, these Anti-Mormon’s who proclaim the Bible and other denominations, what say you of that historic fact?

The early Christian Church and it’s membership was few compared to the world at large around it. They were “persecuted” and accused as being wrong. Now, this time around, the Lord promised his Church will never fall or be removed from the earth and this promise shall prevail. This Church then remains true to God.

With all the shortcomings, the Holy Ghost confirmed that my choice to be a Latter-day Saint as one of the faithful is a right choice. I remain faithful to the Church, because I see and know for a fact that the Lord is in charge of this Church and that no person who was beguiled by contention, issues and falsehoods will change that.

I say this in the name of Jesus Christ

Amen
