Principle of Marriage is Broken

The problems caused by gay-marriage advocates versus traditional marriage advocates seems to be getting worst. Not long ago I wrote an entry here on this blog entitled, “Will the Church Work Against the Law?“. It was a concern of what the LDS Church will do if faced with an “either / or” situation to marry gay persons or face prosecution or a penalty. From what I find is that this “damned if you do or damned if you don’t” situation has already hit others in the world and in some cases, cost those who refused to marry gay person’s a pretty penny.

There is a website called, “United Families International“ who keep track of many news worthy items pertaining to the attacks on traditional marriage which includes gay marriage. In particular, one of their e-mail news releases read as follows,

If same-sex “marriage” stands in California, and if court rulings in other states lead to the unraveling of marriage law elsewhere, we can only expect to see much societal upheaval – and persecution. Read these cases-in-point about the consequences related to same-sex “marriage”:

A Saskatchewan human rights tribunal fined Regina marriage commissioner Orville Nichols $2,500 for his refusal in 2005 to perform a “wedding” ceremony for two homosexual men. Nichols had referred the men to another commissioner who did perform the ceremony, but that didn’t protect him from persecution.

Swedish Pastor Ake Green spent years and much expense trying to clear his name after receiving a sentence for “hate speech” over a Biblical sermon about homosexuality. Dissent is not tolerated where same-sex “marriage” is recognized.

The Catholic Church in Massachusetts was forced to end its long tradition of adoption agency work due to the state’s persecution of organizations resisting the homosexual agenda.

People in the U.S. and Canada have been fined for refusing to perform commercial services for same-sex “marriage” – related events. Personal beliefs are trumped by the homosexual agenda.

Children in California and Massachusetts are already being indoctrinated by homosexual-themed curriculum in their respective K-12 systems.

In Europe, recognition of same-sex “marriage” has resulted in fewer heterosexual marriages and more cohabitation. The result is more poverty, more domestic violence and a much larger tab in social costs for taxpayers. Americans are already paying some $150 billion for the cost of fragmented families.

It is apparent that the problems caused by gay marriage laws are increasing. The facts show that the doctrine of gay marriage is being forced on others, where there is no free choice allowed. Where the freedom of religion is being undermined because many cannot refuse on the basis of faith and are ordered by the law to violate their faith or suffer prosecution. Oh shades of early Christian persecution all over again!

Organizations that provide good services are shutting down to avoid legal costs and battles for refusing to abide in gay marriage laws or “gay laws”. Obviously this problem will not decrease or get better.

The fact that gay marriage is now forced on those who have authority to marry is a sure sign that Christian’s across the world, be it in this Church or in other Churches will face persecution in one form or another. The prophecy in Revelations of what will happen to the faithful Saints is gradually moving toward full manifestation. This Church may face some hard choices in the near future, where some services we provide may also get shut down, but I pray that they do not.

I hope that fellow saints do what they can to prepare for themselves, abide in the prophet’s directions and counsel and seek the counsel of God through his Spirit. That is the only way we can lessen the impact of evil upon us that grows and smothers the world.

Amen
