Imagine before you a criminal and during your conversation with him or her, they become anger or upset and complains to you of something you said. What you did or said was reasonable based on truth or fact. You were respectful in how you spoke to this person and had no anger toward him or her, yet this criminal became upset at you claiming you were wrong.
Having heard his or her complaint, do you feel guilty or remorseful? Have you felt wrong and thought or feared that you may have gone wrong somewhere, then maybe feel the need to withdraw?
This will likely cause you some confusion and affected your ability to discern this matter and know what to do. A type of confusion that sits within you and affecting you such that reading the gospel seems to fail or not resolve it.
Now do you wonder what I am leading to?
When fear, hurt, guilt, remorse is experienced from the experiences with corruption or corrupted things, yet what you did or said was right and proper as you believe it, you are then experiencing the affects of evil.
When righteous things are experienced, there is always stability, sureness and support, even when you cannot figure things out right-away. Where as evil or corrupt things leave you feeling instability and confusion with no support, because evil is always taking.
Essentially, evil or corrupted persons do not have the ability to give righteous counsel when it comes to things of the spirit. The things of the spirit refers to life itself, as to what is truly right or wrong and this includes morals and ethics. This I believe is across the board, no matter who the evil person may be and what authority in the world he or she may possess.
The manner in which to deal with these corrupt persons is dependent on the event or circumstances, but a general rule is that we must do and remain steadfast in our convictions and in the principles of righteousness.
With a corrupt person in a position of authority, you may have to abide in their decision, but you must always abide righteously. You may not have much say in the matter, but always abide righteously. If you have difficulty assessing what you need to do…righteously, seek counsel from the scriptures and from the Spirit of God through prayer and listen to the Spirit
Evil will always try to impose confusion and force upon you a false guilt for the things you do. When evil or corruption is the source of the complaint or act against you, take heed to protect yourself and do not give-in to evil.
Where is this coming from in my life?
In the past during my career as a police officer (now retired), there have been times where corrupt persons would try to impose guilt or claim I was wrong in what I did. With the wavering principles and fad-type ideas of political correctness, it was hard to figure out where I stood. This caused confusion, but when faced with this, I did what I believed was the right thing to do. This was to continue doing what is right as best as I could. This I knew in my heart was right and that time was before I became a member of this Holy Church.
When I had joined the Church, studied and learn gospel principles, with the personal revelations received from God, I gradually understood the principle of righteousness. Looking back at the face of this imposed confusion, I saw evil. This helped me recognize evil in sheep’s clothing. How evil will appear using “correctness” of the world against righteousness of faith.
To sum it up, “There is no truth from corruption”.
