With the array of differing doctrines in the general Christian community among the many Christian denominations, one wonders who is true and who is not. I say this from the perspective of a new convert or one who is investigating which church to join.

When I researched the many beliefs of the many Christian denominations, I began to find a consistent pattern among all of them. This pattern refers to “perspective”. The thing within each person that determines how he/she will view and comprehend God’s word. It is “perspective” that will either serve a person well or mislead them.

It is therefore important to ensure that a proper perspective is held and maintained. When a person views the word of God, what is that person going to “perceive”? What he/she perceives is what he/she will believe. It was here that I saw the perspectives of other Christian, but it is hard to understand what I say without a…perspective. – right?

So to help you get an idea of what I speak about, I provide a visual example. See this next image, as you sit by the computer screen. Who does this image appear to be?

large Image

This image shows the face of Albert Einstein. This is what we see. We believe what it shows us and will state that “we believe this is a picture of Albert Einstein”. If you close this screen, what is the likelihood that you will continue to believe it was a picture of Albert Einstein? If I tell you that this is an illusion, will you tell me or think that I am the one who is wrong and mistaken, said or thought from the experience you had that you clearly see it is a picture of Albert Einstein.

This gives a basic idea of how many other Christian’s think and believe. They see and experience their doctrines in such a manner that they believe what they see and feel about it. Yet, none of them seem to understand that human perspective has it’s limitations when it comes to spiritual things. This is why the Apostle Paul clearly warned us that the “natural man” cannot understand spiritual things, when a natural man depends on his mortal or natural abilities.

Allow me to provide another example. Please take a look at the next picture and tell yourself what you see.

Whose face is showing on this image? Is it Albert Einstein?

No, the picture shows a face of Marilyn Munroe. Granted it is not a clear and crisp picture, but it “clearly” shows a picture if Marilyn Munroe. “So what?” you say. Well here is something you can clearly see and experience.

Go back to the picture above, scroll the page till the picture is centered, then as you keep your eyes on the picture, walk backwards away from the the computer and see what you see.

When you return to the computer, was the picture of Albert Einstein or Marilyn Munroe? You will see that the answer is – both. The picture shows both persons. Now you may say that this is an illusion. To a point you are correct, but it is also real because you are experiencing it.

Please consider this. Mortal perspectives can be fooled, but a spiritual perspective taught by God cannot be fooled. This is why Paul also said, along with saying the natural man cannot understand, is that we require a spiritual discernment to understand spiritual things. With the proper spiritual perspective, a person can view these images and say, it is an illusion because a spiritual person with a spiritual mind will see the illusion and see both images. Therefore the right image is “neither”. A spiritual mind does not accept things of the natural man.

What people tend to ignore are some of the basic commandments and teachings of God. To gain a spiritual mind to discern properly requires we put aside pride and become humble and listen to the Spirit of God. To allow God through his Spirit to lead us and bring each of us into that state of spiritual awareness. In that state we then see the illusions of the mortal world, seeing things as they really are and not caught by illusions.

Can you put aside pride, humble yourself and seek the truth?

This is between you and God to achieve this, for all I can do is tell you and hope and pray you take heed.

(By the way, both pictures above are the same picture. The smaller one is simply a resize of the larger one)
