Look for any disillusion she may have with the marriage and relationship. That is where you will track the source of her discouragement.

Ponder on what cues you may have noticed, or noticed and placed aside as “nothing important”. For example, she is easily “short” with you. What seems to be with the examples you gave, has to do with something about the idea of and involvement of “work”.

Does she appear to believe or feel that the burden is heavy?

When a person finds that life itself is a chore, an annoyance, or interference, that will transfer, overlap or spill over into their faith.

One answer to this is help her out more often and as you do work together, talk about things. It may be a bit hard, but ask about her feelings and make the effort to understand.

It also seems, in reading what you wrote, that she has trouble understanding the doctrines in reference to matters of her life. The two are not meshing well or not properly.

As for hope, it is useless without working your faith. This means that prayer, ask the Father in heaven for help, for understanding (yep, understanding), what you “need to know” and “what shortcomings” trigger in you from this, because be assured, there is a reflective nature in this for you as well. As you work on what is triggered with you, you will also understand her and be able to help her.

Being very brief, I baptized my wife many years ago. She felt she finally found the truth. Now with a number of children, she has come to the conclusion that the Church is false. This is based upon polygamy, polyandry, blood atonement, changes in the temple, masonry and the temple, and on and on.

I find myself with great grief now as she has turned away and finds the things that are most important in the gospel, to have no meaning to her (ie. tithing, garments, etc.).

Any suggestions on how to find some peace and comfort? People telling me to have hope is just not enough. How can someone come back who has rejected the gospel so completely?
